Jan Friedeck, 72, died peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017 under Hospice care at Barrington Terrace Memory Care facility in Naples, FL. Jan, daughter of Rudolph and Elsie Koch, was born December 27, 1944, in San Marcos, Texas. She graduated from New Braunfels High School in Texas in 1963, where she was a band member and drum majorette. Jan had two children from her prior marriage to Walter Friedeck, Jr. She lived most of her life in Texas, including New Braunfels, Seguin, and San Antonio. She spent most of her work life in administrative and executive positions and as a property manager. Upon her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s in 2012, Jan moved to Marco Island, FL to be near family. Throughout her life, she most enjoyed spending time with her family and time near the ocean. Jan was an ardent music fan and enjoyed listening to music of all genres.
Richard 'Dick' Galland went to be with his God on August 15, 2016 at the age of 79 from his beloved hilltop home in Helotes, TX while being lovingly surrounded by his family and friends. Dick was born to Louis and Bessie Galland on February 16, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Dick had a lifelong career in the insurance business. From Great Southern to being the President of UniLife for over 10 years to establishing his own company and great achievement as Chairman of LifeRe Insurance Company in 1984 and selling it in 2007 to live on under Ameritas Insurance Corp.
Conrad P. Rotenberry Early Saturday morning, May 14, 2016 in Round Rock, Texas, Conrad ("Butch") Paul Rotenberry, 75, of San Antonio, TX went to be with our Lord. Conrad was born September 2, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to loving parents, Conrad Bernard and Pauline (Moore) Rotenberry.
He began his career as a Life Insurance Agent for Southwestern Life Insurance Company. After many years of working in the financial planning industry, he opened The Conrad Rotenberry Insurance Agency where he worked until he retired in 2008.
Sue H. Greene, September 3, 1950 - daughter of John Henry and Hazel Bernice Holt was born in Houston, Texas and raised Livingston, Texas. She was absent from the body and present with the Lord, February 2, 2016.
A graduate of Sam Houston State University as well as attending Texas A&M and an Aggie at heart. She was a member of the Comal County - Texas A&M University Mothers' Club. Sue also was a long time devoted member of Concordia Lutheran Church serving with the Stephens Ministry Program, Alter Committee, and as an Usher.
Sue is preceded by her parents and step son Chris Greene. She is survived by husband Dan Greene, Brother Hank & his wife Jennifer Holt, son Brent Lowak and daughter Laura Lowak, Step son, Bob & his wife Olesia Greene, (children, Maya, Max & Ava.) Step daughter Jordan Perry, (children, Tanner, Jade and Sophia.)
Ronald L. Wilburn, 67, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, in San Antonio. He was born in Dallas on December 12, 1948 to Charlie and Nina Wilburn. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1967 and was a star athlete. He attended Southwest Texas State University where he was a letterman, and member of the Bobcats baseball team.
After his graduation he coached at Carrizo Springs High School, and later at Robert Cole High School in San Antonio. Ron left coaching to enter the insurance business, and owned and operated Wilburn Insurance Brokerage in San Antonio. He was a member of Oak Hills Country Club, was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to travel. He never met a person he could not talk to, and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Harry S. Truman - June 5, 1945 - January 8, 2016
Harry was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 24 years, retiring in 1992 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Since moving to San Antonio in 1996, he started his second career as a Financial Planner and was still active in the financial services industry. He was active in his church, numerous community and professional organizations touching countless lives and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mabel and two sons: Vincent, his wife Emily and their four children: Samuel, Abigail, Audrey and Olivia of Cedar Park, Texas; and Alex, his wife Tamra and their five children: Zane, Rowan, Tatum, Cade and Emma of Grapevine, Texas. He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters.

Lt. Col. David F. Sweeney, USAF (Ret), September 10, 1934 – February 18, 2018 - When we speak of the greatest generation, we feel our "Dad" was the best. Lt. Col. David F. Sweeney, age 83, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018. He bravely piloted his aircraft during the Vietnam War and was highly decorated along with his buddies in his many flights over Vietnam. Lt. Col Sweeney is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Sweeney; children: Michael D. Sweeney and Laura S. Lock (Jim); and cherished grandchildren: Madalyn M. Lock and Jacob B. Lock. His memory will endure in our hearts.
Dave served on our Board of Directors for many years, most notably as President during the association year 1998-1999 and as the National Committee Person. In 2000, he was elected into our NAIFA-San Antonio Hall of Fame for his years of service to the local association.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock, San Antonio, TX. Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
